There were many reasons the opportunity to join NPower appealed to me: the core mission of supporting nonprofits with IT solutions; strengths of a talented and deeply committed board, staff and volunteer corps; and the foundation that Project Ignite has set for our future.
In the past three years, Project Ignite has touched 180 nonprofit agencies throughout our community, demonstrating the transformational power of effective IT solutions. We increased the IT knowledge base in the nonprofit community and fostered eight technology solutions, directly addressing the most vexing challenges of nonprofits. One solution – VolunteerConnect – is being scaled nationwide for nonprofit agencies eager to improve volunteer management.
Project Ignite also gave us the opportunity and tools to change our own business model to become more effective and efficient at our mission of putting technology know-how in the hands of nonprofits.
While Project Ignite formally closes in June, our commitment to transformation through collaboration continues. Our team today is energized by the opportunity to apply the lessons of Project Ignite to the important work ahead, providing hope for the nonprofit community in Charlotte and across the nation.
